Wow guys, where have you gone =/

Well it's been a month and I still haven't heard from Ken & Amanda. I’ll keep on believing that one day you guys will come back though..

Meanwhile in London, since my last update I’ve finished my placement on sexual health with tons of sad sad stories, but now I can talk about all things sexual for half an hour with a completely straight face.  My own personal highlight was when I misheard a guy refer to his partner as a ‘he’ and I kept asking tons of questions and the guy got more and more confused until I finally asked are you a ‘top or a bottom’.  You should have seen the stare he gave me.

Good times.

This is from a dinner I had where the theme was 'C' and everyone cooked things that started with C.  I cheated and went with chicken curry with carrots.  Other things included chips with cheese & chorizo and corn cod cakes.  See how many C things you can spot on the whiteboard haha

I had my Easter holiday recently, Mayu came down to visit and since her sister lives in London we went out a few times with her too.  We went to the aquarium..

New friend

Fish friend.

Crab friend.

And we went to a kids amusement park one day cause her sister doesn't really like scary rides.  Basically we spent the entire day standing in queue with kids and towering over everyone else (not by much).  Exhibit A; look at how many strollers are outside this restaurant. Loooooook.

Mayu and I took a trip to a completely random town on the south coast of England.  We picked it for the strangest reasons, and when I later asked people what there was to do there they told me "it's where old people go to die".  It was a really relaxing place though!  But really, it was all nice old people around.  We walked for almost 6 hours both ways to get to the place in the pic above.

Fun fact, this is the top place for suicides in europe apparently.  Was really pretty though!

And famous for the super rocky beaches.. I don't know how people enjoy it, unless they find the pain therapeutic or something.  There's no way anyone can run on these beaches..

Seen in a museum.

And in this picture is the epitome of sadness.

Hope you guys are all well! Looking forward to our oovoo session, wherever you are =S

Awaiting the return of Ken & Amanda

I've been having a pretty quiet month, mainly because I do quite a lot of travelling (by my standards!) for the hospital I am at and it's tiring haha.  But soon I'll be back in central London and everything will be good again.  I'm on my GP rotation, so it's pretty chill but the hours are long i.e. I can't skip out on anything cause i'm the only student in the entire building and they will pretty much notice when I'm not around.  Still have 2 weeks to go then I'm on to my most dreaded module - Women's Health =[

In the meantime here are more random snaps.

Description of a painting in the Manchester Art Galley.  I thought it was funny =/ It was raining on Valentines weekend so we scrapped our plans and Mayu and I spent a lot of time indoors.

Went for Spanish food for dinner, Mayu started fishing out the fruit in her sangria and I didn't have the heart to stop her...  She ate them all "__"

Saw Dharma after agesss... last time I saw him was like June last year haha. This is him losing and getting punished btw =P

This is us finally discovering where the ''''burnt smell''' was coming from.  We suddenly noticed when there was a black spot on the wall, and the scariest part was that the machine is was attached to was still working.

We and our neighbours have started our Come Dine with Me series.  It's a UK TV show where 4 strangers get together and cook dinners for each other then give each other scores.  Uh we're doing it without the scoring, but this is the dinner I have to beat cause it's my turn next!  That's homemade ice cream.  How am I supposed to compete?!

Hope you guys are all right and look forward to your BLOG POSTS (KEN AND AMANDA). Plus we need to play the cards against humanity game again with amanda present =P

I was on a one-week Spring Break and i didn't do anything fun except for hiking (less than 5 minutes walk lol) up Mount Bonnell. it's the highest peak in Austin i believe and a pretty nice view!

and during the weekend, we had a crawfish boil lunch at one of my badminton friend's house, they ordered like 40lbs of crawfish shipped fresh from Louisiana that morning.

exam-blues ah?

can your cookies get any uglier Keegan?hahaah  and yes we have found the 4th person for our roadtrip too, Amin :)

I had an awesome weekend last week in San Francisco, it was so beautiful and just way livelier than Austin. it was more of a sightseeing trip rather than a Chinese New Year one. it's not the same as back home I guess, usually on the first day of cny we would go to our relatives houses for lunch and just hang around. but here we all just went out for lunch on the first day of cny and collected angpaus there. everyone looked like they were doing the same thing at the restaurant, and if someone were to rob that restaurant, they'd be really rich! hahaha. anyway I had a great time out there, I wouldn't mind visiting SF again in the summer ;)

came back on Monday midnight and started class on Tuesday. went to Dallas last Friday for a badminton team competition, the ABC (American Badminton Centre) Community Cup. it was a tiring weekend but great fun! the team spirits, made some new friends, some really dishonest people on court, some weird people who asked if the drink dispenser had coffee in it when it was dispensing blue liquid (Gatorade)...and not forgetting an amazing dinner at this American French restaurant called St. Martin's Bistro or something. I had the Chilean Seabass with Lobster Bisque and Risotto, it was heavenly!

can't wait to catch up on all my readings and plan in detail on our upcoming roadtrip! I'm SUPER excited! :D

this was the street I lived on, at the intersection between Green and Grant Avenue.

right beside this Records store.

this was Santana Row, a high-end shopping/restaurant/residential area in San Jose. about an hour's drive from San Francisco.

Santana Row.

the best egg tart you can ever find out there! can even beat the one in HK! hahaha it's from the Golden Gate Bakery!

this is the Coit Tower.

St. Paul's Church.

behind me is the famous Crooked Street. its the worlds crooked-est street!

this is the Palace of Fine Arts, by far the most beautiful place to me! :)

and of course, the Golden Gate Bridge.

the Lands End Lookout Point.

this is the Ocean Beach, right next to the Lands End Lookout Point.

this is Sausolito, a small city about 45 minutes drive from San Francisco. it's a very beautiful city with lots of unique shops and restaurants. tourists usually rent bicycles from San Francisco and cycle here.
balancing rocks!

Pier 39.

the Lefty's Store! :)

I always thought it was called a tram but apparently they call it the cable car. you have to ride on it at least once to say you've been to San Francisco :)
